A ghost story with a difference! Following The Histories of Hayward Hall, Alexandria Blaelock presents a different kind of haunted house story.
Some say a ghost is like a recording, others say it’s a person who’s stuck in the mortal plane.
But what if it’s more, someone who can adapt?
“I’d been reading about ghostly visitations,” Alexandria said, “and then visited an historic house. One of those ones where it looks like the occupants have just stepped out for a moment. I took a nap, and when I woke up, I had the germ of the story.”
Alexandria Blaelock started writing The Ghost and Ms Cox (BlueMere Books, December 2022) to commemorate the anniversary of the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli.
After the First Word War, the living were obsessed with the dead, so a scenario similar to the story this wouldn’t have been uncommon.
Life interrupted
To say the letter was a surprise was an understatement. It arrived addressed to Miss Finlay Cox, which made the contents even more extraordinary.
Orphan Finn Cox inherits a cottage. Thinks it holds the key to her origins. Of course she takes a look. Who wouldnโt?
But when she gets there, she gets more than she bargained for.
Is it friend, family or foe?
